Intersection accident injures 1 and kills 3

Pennsylvania roads can get extremely busy, with everyone from commuters traveling from work to families getting their children from school navigating traffic throughout each day. Many of the drivers successfully navigate the traffic, but on occasion there are motor vehicle accidents. One of them was especially devastating, and left three of the people involved dead and another seriously injured.

The people involved in the accident were from multiple cities of Pennsylvania. The accident happened around 11:50 p.m. at a five-point intersection. It happened when a Honda Pilot was traveling westbound at high speeds on Ridge Pike. The Honda was going at about 100 mph in a zone that had a posted speed limit of 35 mph. It failed to make a key turn as it approached Chemical Road and instead went racing across the median, and from there, went into the eastbound lane. There, it smashed head-on into a Dodge Grand Caravan.

The driver of the Dodge became trapped in their vehicle, suffering massive injuries. Those injuries resulted in the death of the driver of the Dodge, who was pronounced dead at the scene by responders. One of the passengers of the Honda died at the scene, as did the driver of the Honda. The other passenger of the Honda was critically injured and was taken to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries. According to the most recently available information, that person is in critical condition.

Some aspects of the accident were caught on the dashcam of an officer’s car that was nearby. Additional footage was recorded on the traffic cameras that are at the intersection. The immediate area was closed to traffic for six hours and then reopened at 6:00 a.m. the next morning.

If you or a loved one were involved in a serious accident involving injuries, you have a right to seek compensation. An attorney can help you determine what your legal options are.
